Sharon Regional Health System recognizes that care will be provided to persons for whom the Health System does not expect to receive payment due to a patient's ability to pay.

Sharon Regional Health System will extend financial assistance to medically indigent patients in the form of reduction of their financial obligation to the Health System based upon their ability to pay.

Charity Care patients should be identified as early as possible, preferably before or at the time of service is rendered.  Patient eligibility for Charity Care may also be determined after insurance payment is received or collection efforts have commenced.

Patients requesting financial aid must complete a Sharon Regional Health System Charity Care Application.  Patients may be asked to complete a Medical Assistance application.  Hospital financial counselors, working in conjunction with local welfare agencies and/or welfare guidelines and information, will determine when it is necessary for a patient to apply for Medical Assistance.

Eligibility for Charity Care will be determined according to the information provided on the Charity Care Application and Charity Care Income Guidelines.

SRHS's Charity Care Policy is available for review in the Business Office located at 699 East State Street, Sharon, which is across State Street from our hospital.
