For years, Sharon Regional Health System has offered advancements in cancer technology, treatment and early detection. Sharon Regional's Cancer Care Center, 2320 Highland Rd., Hermitage, takes cancer treatment to a high level.

Dealing with cancer can create anxiety and stress for both patients and their families. Sharon Regional Health System's Cancer Care Center eliminates the anxiety of receiving treatment in an unfamiliar setting miles from home and family.

Our Cancer Care Center is the only facility of its kind in Mercer County, offering total cancer care within one modern location. We draw upon the expertise of many departments and specialists in planning for your care.

Services Offered

Radiation Oncology -

The Radiation Oncology Department consists of a team of ARRT certified Therapists, a certified Dosimetrist, a Physicist, certified radiation nurse, a secretary, and a board-certified Radiation oncologist. Dennis Ulewicz, M.D., is the Medical Director assisted by Jessi McCloskey, Chief Radiation Therapist.

  • Phillips large bore CT simulator
  • BAT Cam localization
  • 3D/IMRT/IGRT treatment planning/PET Ct/TX planning
  • Electron beam capability
  • Access to national clinical trials
  • Multileaf collimation

  • Prostate Brachytherapy
  • Siemens Primus IMRT

Medical Oncology -

The Medical Oncology Department consists of a team of registered nurses, board-certified Medical Oncologists with three nurses certified in oncology nursing, a nurse practitioner, a secretary, and one aide. Medical oncologists George Garrow, M.D., Sue Tobin, D.O., FACOI, and Mukhtar Hassan, M.D., work with Debra Evans, CRNP, a nurse practitioner.

We use treatments to destroy or control the growth of cancer cells. These treatments include:

  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Blood administration
  • Biological response modifiers
  • Intravenous infusions
  • Injections
  • Access to national clinical trials

Affiliation with National Cancer Research Centers - Our physicians are affiliated with prestigious national cancer research centers. These national Affiliations mean that our patients have access to the newest therapies and treatment protocols while receiving highly personalized cancer care right here, close to home.
